font-family: Times New Roman;\">Store Leeks in a loosely closed plastic bag in your refrigerator crisper drawer for up to two weeks.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>The longer you keep them, you may \u2018lose\u2019 an outer layer or two.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>When you are ready to use simply peel the outer layer away to reveal a beautifully intact leek.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;\">Always give leeks a good rinse before cooking with them.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>They are surrounded by soil while they grow and often have dirt and grit that finds it way into the layers.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>The easiest way to do this is to cut them in half lengthwise and rinse under a thin stream of cold running water while gently spreading the layers apart with your fingers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;\">Leeks are more versatile than most people know.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>They are a wonderful aromatic that can be used in soups, stews and braises.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>They can be saut\u00e9ed with other veggies to add a nice gentle onion flavor but are also wonderful on their own!<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>They can be braised, roasted, saut\u00e9ed and grilled.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>You can also steam leeks and this is recommended before roasting and grilling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;
