{"id":1540,"date":"2010-03-08T07:02:19","date_gmt":"2010-03-08T15:02:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.forthillfarm.com\/news\/?page_id=1540"},"modified":"2014-04-11T13:56:53","modified_gmt":"2014-04-11T13:56:53","slug":"cauliflower-curry","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/recipes.forthillfarm.com\/?page_id=1540","title":{"rendered":"Cauliflower Curry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>from <em>The Vegetarian Epicure Book Two<\/em>, by Anna Thomas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 large head cauliflower<\/p>\n<p>1 small Potato<\/p>\n<p>\u00bc cup vegetable oil<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp black mustard seeds (can use yellow)<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp. ground turmeric<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp. ground cumin<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp. ground coriander<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp cayenne pepper<\/p>\n<p>1 clove garlic, minced or crushed<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd onion, slivered<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp salt<\/p>\n<p>1-\u00bc cups water<\/p>\n<p>1 medium tomato, chopped<\/p>\n<p>2 TBSP lemon juice<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Trim and wash cauliflower and break into very small flowerettes. Scrub the potato and boil it until it is nearly tender, but not quite done.<\/li>\n<li>Heat the oil in a fairly large skillet over medium-low heat and add the mustard seeds, heating until the seeds pop, just a few minutes. When the seeds have finished popping, add the turmeric, cumin, coriander, cayenne, garlic, and onions. Saut\u00e9 over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 3-4 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the cauliflower and saut\u00e9, stirring often, for 4-5 minutes, then add the salt and water and cover pan tightly. Simmer for 5 minutes, while you cut up the parboiled potato into 1-in. cubes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the potato, stir, cover attain, and simmer for 10 minutes.
